Why contacts see us as the partner in the international trade of piglets, pigs and cattle? Probably because in the past 40 years, we have learned that there is much more to it than cattle trade alone. It’s a matter of quality and expertise. Customer focus. Knowledge of the market. An eye for animal welfare. And the will to create maximum value for our contacts, buyers and suppliers. That gives them confidence. The reason you see us everywhere. In Europe, and in the rest of the world. Wherever we are, everywhere we are VAEX – The Livestock Traders
The VAEX Group are specialist traders in piglets, slaughter pigs and sows, breeding cattle and (livestock) trucks. VAEX operates internationally and with its private fleet services the whole of Europe and even some countries beyond that. Operational management of the company is the responsibility of Pim and Dirk Govers. They are supported in all this by Leo Govers, the founder.
The name Govers has been connected to the trade in livestock for many years. Over generations members of this family have been actively involved in the industry. Trade began at regional, later at national level. In 1974 Toon and Leo Govers started the company 'de Gebroeders Govers Reek B.V.'. Eventually the brothers Govers expanded the trade across the border and the name Govers became a trademark in Europe. In 1992 the name of the company changed into VAEX, and a new generation took over. Pim (Toon's son) and Dirk (Leo's son) have been part of the management since 2005 and they are still being supported by founder Leo Govers. Together with a staff of 85 they make sure that the VAEX Group keeps growing.
